Started this round wearing size 16 (tightish) adidas trackies (size 18 more comfortably) and today i bought SIZE 12!!! How awesome is that!!! Might have to go back and buy some 'nice' going out clothes now lol!

Thank God the scales were nice to me this week!!! I have worked bloody hard.
Wednesday: PT and Bodycomabt Class
Thursday: PT
Friday: PT
Saturday: Bodycomabt Class and 17km walk
Sunday: 5hr Mega Bootcamp Day
Monday: PT and Bodycombat Class

Now, lets hope for the same result next week so I can officially start in the 5kg and under to lose next round!!!

A 'STRANGER' COMMENTED ON MY WEIGHT LOSS

Ok so this is a bit of a bragging moment ... today I was in Safeway at the deli section ordering some seafood. I asked for 100g and she grabbed a handful and weighed it and there was too much. I said to the girl that it was fine. And then she commented ... 'You are doing so well ... and it is so hard with kids' (wtf I thought lol). And I said 'Thanks' and then she continued to compliment me on my weight loss - well the tears welled in my eyes and when I left I had to take a deap breath (as my lip was now starting to quiver) to stop the proud and appreciative tears from pouring! lol

1KM TIME TRIAL!!!

Today had a one on one PT session and I beat my one kilometer time trial!! I took another 16secs off which means I have also achieved another goal - woohoo!

I CAN RUN 1 KILOMETRE IN UNDER 6MINS!!!! I did it in 5mins and 47secs! Yay! Now to do it again in my next fitness test - fingers crossed!!!!

HOW EXCITING!!!!!

So I am very excited at the moment!!!! Mish chose my little write up about the new EXTRAORDINARY ME to be a finalist in her competition to win a treadmill. As a finalist I received a voucher to footlocker (she knows everything that woman - but it has me beat - how did she know I needed new runners lol).

Unfortunately, as much as I would LOVE to win, I don't think I will be winning the treadmill :(.

By next round I am hoping I can work out how to do a video entry, hmmmm!

WEDNESDAY WEIGH IN!!!!

I survived the dreaded red flag weekend!!! I have successfully avioded eating any chocolate or hot x buns (and those buns were calling my name ... so I am super proud lol).

Today I lost 2.2kg which I am very pleased with (considering I had a gain last week!). So definately back on track.

I have found the extra long weekend very hard exercise wise as I have a massive assignment for TAFE to complete and there were no classes at the gym :( I am definately more organised when I have to be somewhere at a certain time!).

Now that life it back to normal (ie classes are back on at the gym!) here's hoping for another good loss next week!

I WENT ON THE SWING AT THE PARK!!!!

Today my daughter had a couple of freinds over and they asked if we could walk up to the park, so off we went. They were having heaps of fun on all the equipment and I had a look over at the swings. For the first time in years I looked over at the swings and thought ... hmmm wonder if my bum fits now?! and it did! so i got to be the nog kid at the park lol! Even though it isn't much - it was an awesome feeling being able to have a go on the swing again lol

OMG ... WAS THAT A COMPLIMENT?

Last night we went out for tea for my sisters birthday (not the sister that got married ... my other sister). Anyway, one could say she hasn't been very supportive of my journey to find skinny me! Anyway to cut a long story short at dinner last night she said to my hubby ... 'You would feel like you are sleeping in a king sized bed now wouldn't you?' And he said 'Why?' (wondering what she was going on about ...) and she said 'well half your wife is missing!'

That is the closest I will ever get to a compliment from her, so I am going to take it (mind you my husband and I nearly fell off our chairs due to shock when she said it lol)

The NEW EXTRAORDINARY ME!!!!

The 12WBT has helped make my life EXTRAORDINARY!!!! I’m now 33kgs lighter and 97cm smaller than I was before I joined Round 3 2010!!!!! My clothes are too big (I have dropped from size 22 to 14!). I have a waistline and can see my feet when I look down! I feel more energetic, happier, fitter and healthier!

This round I needed to ‘increase’ my exercise and the intensity, if I wanted to continue to lose weight! I have completed an 8 week boot camp (which I was the overall winner!!!), joined my local gym (doing around 8-9 classes a week!), play basketball, do 3 P-T sessions a week, and on top of all that walking and running around after my 2 adorable girls!

My attitude is ‘No Pain, No Gain’ if you want results get off your butt and JFDI! Hence, to do this I am getting up at 5am in the morning to get to the gym so I am home by 7am so my hubby can go to work and I am there for the girls. I then leave after 6pm and go back to fit in another class or 2! I have to burn at least 500cals a day (more if I do it in one training session!).

My current exercise week consists of:
Monday - 10am PT session (1 hour), 6.30pm zumba and 7.30pm body combat
Tuesday - 6am circuit, night - basketball (or zumba if basketball isn't on) (music and movement with 3 year also)
Wednesday - 10am PT session, 6.30pm bodycombat (if really pumped - 6am boxercise)
Thursday - 6am circuit plus walk during day (and swimming lesson with 3 year old)
Friday - 6am spin and 10am PT session (plus kindergym with 3 year old)
Saturday - 8am bodycombat, 9am body pump
Sunday - a decent walk (16km twin towns with friends, walk with family, or at least an hour walk on tready with incline), yard/ farm work

I now go out for a meal and know what I can eat and what I shouldn’t! If I don’t like the choices I ask them to modify a dish to suit my needs! I can't believe how some places don't even have a salad you can order on the menu, the steaks are all 300g plus, and the only milk is full cream - don't these places realise that they are not doing anyone any favours here?!

I set challenging goals that are achievable, yet at the same time I have to work hard to achieve them ... hang on SMASH them lol! ‘NOTHING WILL GET IN MY WAY’!!!!

My actions have definitely inspired others. This round 6 friends joined the program because of my results last round. Friends often want to join me to exercise and ask me for different advice.

I am aboslutely loving my 'new' EXTRAORDINARY life!!!

12WBT rocks - Thanks Mish and the 12WBT team!!!

MY SISTER'S WEDDING!!!!

OMG! I am a terrible blogger - I can't believe I haven't updated you in ages - I do apologise but I have been busy - VERY busy!

You may recall that a few weeks ago I set myself a goal to lose 7kgs by my sisters wedding on the 16th (so I could say I lost 30kg!). Well ... I did it!! It was a milestone week - I reached the 10% plus the 10kg mark (aim was 8kg by week 8 - I had lost 11kg woohoo) for this round of the 12WBT plus I had lost a total of 30.4kg!!!! This means that I am no longer OBESE!!! I am finally into the overweight ... slowly getting healthy step by step!

I also SMASHED my time trial run by 1min and 16secs - I couldn't believe it (and I was VERY puffed and proud at then end hehe) and improved on all areas in the fitness test - yay I am getting fitter on paper too!

My sisters wedding day was absolutely FANTASTIC - I can't believe it went so fast. The the weather was beautiful, she looked stunning - the day was just perfect!!!

Not that the day was about me at all ... but .... there where people at the wedding who hadn't seen me since the engagement party last October (when I had only been doing 12WBT for 2 weeks!) and they couldn't believe it!!! They were amazed at how much weight I had lost - I think I may have even made my family proud lol!

I had the best day ever - and can't thank my sister and her husband enough for asking me to be part of it (and giving me the incentive to start my new healthier life!!!!).

I WON OPERATION: BOOTCAMP!!!!

Little bragging moment!!!! Today was breakup night for the Operation: Bootcamp I have just spent the past 8 weeks completing. And I was the overall winner - woo hoo! I am very excited! It was based on weightloss, measurements and fitness test imporvments. I lost 6.2kgs over the 8 weeks, lost 34cm overall, and improved on everything in the fitness test;
Beep Test: from level 2.4 to level 3.3
Plank: from 1min 44 sec to 2min 19sec
Sit Ups: from 25 to 41 (in one min)
Push Ups (on toes): from 6 to 40
Squats: from 57 to 80
Balance test: from 2.39mins to 5.03mins.
(Not sure how close I could get to these results again - I was on fire on Friday Night - NOTHING was getting in my way lol)

My prize was $250!!!! Now to decide what to spend it on!!!!

BIG WEEK OF GOOD RESULTS!!!!!

Ok the past week has been massive for me (hence, my lack of blog entries which I do apologize!!!!). Last weeks weigh in as predicted was terrible! Absoultely terrible - I gained 1.3kg. I was shatttered. But nevertheless put it behind me, and worked my butt off as I new this weeks weigh in had the potential to be bad too given I had my sisters Hen's Party Saturday Night (which was a lot of fun - but more about that later!!!).

Friday Night was the last night of the Bootcamp that I had been doing for the previous 8 weeks, so we had weigh in and a fitness test!!!! I came through with the goods - woo hoo - lost 2.2kgs (according to Bek's scales!) so a total loss of 6.2kgs for the 8 weeks! And had good losses on all body part measurements (from memory about 10cm off waist, 10cm of chest, 3cm off arms, 7cm off thighs ... thats all I can remember). Then came the fitness test and man I was determnined to beat my own score! And I did in everything!!! Now I am hoping I beat my results the best and that I was the winner - hehe. Fingers, Toes and everything crossed!

Then we had Satruday Night - the Fairy Cowgirls Hen's Night! I went to the gym and did Body Combat in the monring and then stayed clean with my eating for the entire day (and night) - but may have had quite a few to drink (ok ... so I lost count!). I stopped though at about 11.30pm and stayed up until 2.30am - surely that burnt some of the drinks off!

And to even make sure I burnt those unwanted extra cals - I helped my parents stack about 4yrs worth of wood into their shed (it took around 7hrs) on Sunday!!!!

Monday - my new 'Bootcamp' started in Warragul - a 6 week challenge. This week consists of 3 x 1hr personal training sessions. My trainer is Tyson - he is awesome! I have only had 2 sessions this week with him so far but he has pushed me!!! I also have to wear a certain tshirt when at the gym so that way I am pushed when ever I am there if it looks like I am slacking off!.

So, anyway, this week I lost ... drum roll .... 3.3kgs!!! I weighed myself like 10 times I was that shocked and excited!!!. This has put me back on track to achieve one of my mini/ major goals. To reach 30kg loss by 16th April!!!!!! I want this soooo bad!

I also went shopping this week and got to buy a size 12 bra OMG!!!!!! I was a size 18 in October last year and now I am getting a size 12!!!!! How exciting! And I also shouted myself a couple of nice items!!!!

I would love to have an awesome loss again next week - I so desperately want to reach those 70's!!!! Will keep you all posted!!!!

Disheartened and Confused ...

I don’t compare my weekly weigh ins to others as I know everyone is very different to each other. However ....

I exercise religiously ... probably over do it. I weigh and record ALL of my food. Work out the Total Calories I have consumed, the Total Calories I have burnt during exercise and then work out my deficit for the day ...

I had one bad day this weekend ... I didn’t think it was that bad until the next day ... I weighed and extra 1.3kgs!!!! OMG! I did not eat that much food ... Went for a 16km walk that day to try and make up for it ... obviously didn’t help! I gained 800grams!!!

Maybe I have a really crap metabolism!!! And this is the bit where I am confused. How can others report of a ‘bad’ weekend with food and/or a week of no exercise and lose well over a kilo? Or have they really lost the weight? It does my head in trying to work it out!!!

I don’t want to sound like I am not supportive – I think every loss is an awesome effort! I just don’t know how other people do it!

Wednesday Weigh Ins!!!

This week I gained 800grams. My first gain on the Michelle Bridges Program (and this is my second round) and I am so annoyed with myself! I have exercised and exercised but had massive red flag weekend and obviously failed :( Shattered! Anyway, gotta get over it and back into it!

BRING ON THE NEXT WEEK (and a massive loss!)

Wednesday Weigh Ins!!!

Ok ... so I am a day late ... but better late than never right?

Yesterday was weigh in day and we also had to do measurements! And bragging moment ... I lost 1.4kg this week which means I have lost 5.4kg this round and a total of 24.8kgs since beginning my 12WBT journey last round! (It had to be 200 grams short of 25kgs didn't it - pfft!). Therefore, I have passed me first goal (one month goal) of losing 5kgs! woo hoo!

I have also lost a total of 26cms in the past 4 weeks - I am soooo glad that all the hard work I am putting in is paying off!

Bring on the next 4 weeks!!!! (And hopefully another 5kgs and 26cms!)

Wednesday Weigh Ins!!!

This week I lost 1.2kg!!!! I am VERY happy with this as I had the MASSIVE red flag day on Sunday!!!

I have now decided to set myself a new mini goal - to lose 7kg by the 16th April (mys sisters Wedding date!). This will put me into the 70s and I don''t even remember EVER being in the 70s since my wedding nearly 9 years ago!

So this is my commitment to you all! I AM going to lose 7kgs by the 16th April. I CAN DO THIS!!! BRING IT ON!!!!

MASSIVE RED FLAG DAY!!!

On Sunday I had a MASSIVE red flag day!!! A 5 year old birthday party directly followed by a 1 year old birthday party!!! Arrrrgh. Was very nervous about the whole day. Worried about if I could avoid the chips, dips and lollies. And guess what?! I did! At both! I had a sausage and salad for lunch and for tea steak and salad! Half a bight of cake and drank water and diest coke!!! I even managed to stay UNDER my calaries! Woohoo. Now, I am praying it reflects in tomorrows weight in! FINGERS, TOES AND EVRYTHING IS CROSSED! lol

BRAGGING MOMENT!!!!

Today I tried on my bridesmaids dress for my sisters wedding in April! The last time I tried it on it did up ... but today it did up VERY easily. The dress maker was shocked and said that we need to leave any alterations for a couple of weeks in case I lose more weight (which is the plan lol) and said how well I have done lol!!! I was soooooo excited.

So a new mini goal for me ... between now and 16th April I want to lose at least 7kg. Doable you think??? BRING IT ON! If I succeed I will be into those 70's wooohoooo!!!!

TWIN TOWNS TRAIL!!

A walk along the twin town trails from Drouin to Warragul was organised for today for members of the 12WBT team!!! We were to meet at Drouin Civic Park and walk out an hour and then back again!

So after my Body Comat Class I headed off to Drouin to ,meet some 12WBT team members!!! Got there at about 5 to 10am and I was the only car in the car park!!! ok .... waited around went for a walk to next car park (to see if I could see any 'lost' faces) and nup noone!!! At 10.15 I had to make a decision - do the walk on my own or leave!

One person had previously told me they maybe late. I said to them that it would be fine - just start the walk and you may bump into some of us on our way back!!!.  So, with that in mind I started to walk!!! (Previously, I would NEVER have done this walk on my own because I am a chicken! lol). I had calories to burn plus 'deadlines' to meet!.

So I walked nearly an hour out (to the 5km mark) and back again!!! So 10km!!! and burnt 623cals woohoo!!!

I was a bit disappointed that noone came - but you get that! lol and I am so proud that I did the walk on my own (now I will go and do it again!).

As it turned out, one member went to the wrong park (oops) and another member came - but we missed each other :(. Lesson learnt for next time - state an obect that I will be wearing and maybe let people attending know a mobile number!!!!

Hope to meet some members soon!

I AM TEACHING MYSELF TO RUN - C25K!!!!

After last weeks weigh in (400g loss) I was very disappointed. I had been VERY careful with food and doing exercise (felt like I was working my butt off) and it didn't pay off! Then Mish's video came - about exercise!!! And helloooo - I need to up it!!! I need to burn between 400 and 800 calories a session!!!

I then had a vent to Jenny!!! (She is my awesome support buddy and keeps me motivated!!!!). And she suggested again (which I was also thinking but procrastinating and putting off for as longs as possible) that I needed to run - not walk! WTF! Running on the basketball court, I can handle, running on a tennis court I can handle, running away from something scary, I can handle - but running 'just for fun' - that kills me!!!!

But something needed to happen! So on Monday I started my own version of C25K (teaching myself to run 5km from not being able to do anything at all!). I say my own - because the first week of the C25K wasn't enough - so I upped it and did 1min of running and 1min walking - for 30mins instead of 20mins (and because I had reached 500 cals - I walked for another 30mins!).

Then today I thought - I need to up it again!!! Push myself harder. JFDI!!!! So I did. After my 5min warm up walk, I ran for 1.5mins and wak for 1min, for the first 20mins. For the next 10mins I ran for 1min then walked for 1min. And because I did and hour on Monday - I had to do an hour again and smash the calories burnt Monday and improve how far I had gone!!! (Yes, like Mish, I compete with myself lol). And I beat both - I burnt 50 more cals plus walked/ran/ jogged nearly a couple of hundred metres further!

So next time I have to beat -

6.65 kms in the hour
565 cals burnt

5km - 42mins

And hopefully sooner rather than later, I can run at least 1km straight (before having to walk) and then 2km, then 3km, then 4km, then 5km and ... we will have to wait and see lol!

Will keep you posted on how I do!!!

BACK ON TRACK!!!

Since last Wednesday's weigh in, I was a little disappointed with my loss of 400g ... ok more than a little - ALOT!!!! But I wasn't going to let it sabbotage my journey! Instead got more anal about writing things down. If it went in the mouth, the weight was recorded and the calories were calculated!

Same with exercise - I was aiming for a deficit each day (and a decent one - no point pussy footing around now right - pmsl!).

Hence this week I lost 2.4kg!! Woohoo - a decent loss (for me - because I am fat - I do understand that if you don't have much to lose then 400g would be awesome but I have ALOT to lose)! . This brings me back on trach with my goals - if I can continue with these losses then I should be able to lose the 12kg I have set as my goal for this round for sure!!!! Fingers, toes and everything crossed!

Hope everyone has had a great week. Lets smash up this week!!!!

WHAT A WEEK!!!

Since Saturday I have barely had a moment to sit down and do my blog!

SUNDAY

I did a walk from Warragul to Drouin (9km) with my hubby's cousin!! The weather was kindish to us to begin with and got worse as we continued (VERY) windy and then the rain came and yes by the end of it we were drenched lol!

MONDAY

Was my gorgeous girls 5th birthday!!! And yes this meant a cake and a party with 8 of her friends from kinder!! She had an absolute ball and was very spoilt!

After all the celebrations finished it was off to BOOTCAMP for me!!! I must have eaten too much crap (and I thought I was being careful) because I felt like crap for the entire session! Oh well - lesson learnt!!! DON'T EAT CRAP!!! (sometimes easier said that done I know!).
It was also weigh in night for bootcamp and I managed to gain 700g - WTF!!! Bek must think I am the yoyo dieter! Gain 800g lose 2kg gain 700g ... hopefully next week i lose 3kg ;) lol.

TUESDAY

Well what a day! Kinder drop, music and movement, drop nearly 3 year to my mum to babysit, back to kinder for 3 hours of duty, back to get 2nd child, then back to kinder, then to fairy ballet, followed by home for 1 hr (wrap neices present and get changed), then off to basketball and back to my sisters for her daughters 5th birthday - Yes I was VERY puffed yesterday!!!

AND TODAY ... WEDNESDAY!!!!

So since measurement day (Last Monday 14th) I have lost 400g :( I am a bit disappointed in myself (last round first weigh in was 2.7kg!). But given my multiple red flag days this week I am not at all surprised! So now back on track and to being in control again!!!

This morning I think I was insane!!! I got up at 5.15am and went off to the 6am Boxercise class!!! It was great!!! Not sure exactly how many calories I burnt for sure as HRM stopped for a moment and was reading my heart rate :( But my freind (who has an awesome figure and is very fit) burnt approx 600 cals - so hope I did that at least too! lol

Now, as I am typing this I am sitting here thinking - do I do my fitness test this afternoon or leave it until tomorrow (feeling a little fatigued lol).

I hope next week I can report a BIGGER loss to you all!!! Have a great day everyone!!!

TODAY I JOINED THE GYM!!!!

Today I 'took the plunge' and joined the gym!!! Mainly to do classes there (as I have my own treadmill, bike and rower at home!!!). I paid for a year upfront - so no excuses!!! I am committed now!!!

Did my first official class as a member, 'Bodycombat' and burnt 419cals - woohoo!!! Followed it with a massage!!! Talking to my massuer about it and now we are meeting at 6.05am Wednesday Morning for Boxercise (she is at her goal 'healthy' weight and much fitter than me and burnt over 800 cals last week - BRING IT ON!!!).

Tomorrow I am doing a 9km walk between Warragul and Drouin!!! I know I can do it - just hopefully do it in a good time!!!

Wednesday, February 16, 2011

EXCITEMENT PLUS!!!!!

I am absolutely one very EXCITED girl today!!! Today is weigh-in Wednesday and I blitzed through the 20kg weight loss!!! WOOHOOO I have now offcially lost 20.7kg since beginning the 12WBT on 27th September, 2010!!!! And if that isn't exciting enough .... I posted this on the Michelle Bridges 12WBT wall today (I have barely ever made a comment on there before):
"So officially since starting 12WBT Round 3 last year I have finally hit the 20kg loss mark! woohoo! Bring on the next 10kg!!! Thanks heaps Mish! Your program truly rocks!!"

and she RESPONDED to my post:
"WHAT A MILESTONE!!!! I want you to go and pick up a 20kg weight or bag. Now imagine carrying that around all day every day...and it's not the physical weight that's the hard bit.... SO proud of you xoxo"
And as if that wasn't enough Mish used my quote in a email to advertise the 12WBT:

"Each round see's more and more members coming back. I'm not sure if it's my Lean and Strong Program addition, the many new features, or maybe it's that my members simply love the support. Whatever your results from previous 12WBTs, there is more to learn through my 12WBT. I want this to be your year, and I want to support you to reach your goals!
Michala Chapman is just one of thousands of members who have achieved great success over previous 12WBT rounds. Here's what she said:
"So officially since starting 12WBT Round 3 last year I have finally hit the 20kg loss mark! woohoo! Bring on the next 10kg!!! Thanks heaps Mish! Your program truly rocks!!"

HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!!! I even had tears when I read her response!!! And the email!!!

I truly am grateful for the 12WBT, for all the support everyone has given me to lose the 20kg and for the friendships that I have gained from doing the program!!!

Can't wait to begin the next 12 weeks!!!! BRING IT ON!!!!

BODY COMBAT

Got up nice and early this morning, so I could get to the Body Combat Class (my beautiful Mum babsat for me - I so owe her!!!). And WOW it was definately an AWESOME workout!!! 427 cals burnt and I was only learning the moves (can't wait until I know them lol). Will definately be sigining up for a gym membership!!!!

Now ... to workout a timetable for myself!!!! hehe

WHAT A CRAZY WEEK!!!

OMG ... I can't believe this week is already over! It has been crazy with my eldest starting 4 year old kinder and all the kids activites starting again and me starting TAFE again!!!! WOW!

Well this week started off with a bit of a downer!!! I had weigh in for bootcamp on Monday night and compared to the previous Monday I had put on 800 grams - WTF!!! I had been anal about calorie intake and working really hard - it was VERY disheartening ... :(

Then cam Wednesday Weigh In and compared to the previous Wednesday I had lost 1.8kg - ok WTF again - a little bit confused here now!!! But very releaved with this weigh in compared to the Monday one!!!

I did both Zumba classes on Tuseday and then Wednesday - during those I was only able to burn around 250 cals (and I was trying to increase the 'intensity' as much as possible but the music is ... just too slow). So have decided that I will use up my final two passes and might take the plunge and join a gym!! This will also be more cost effective because for $15 a week I can attend as many classes as I want PLUS use the gym if I want.

Finally, tonight was Bootcamp again and WOW - 483 cals burnt - Thanks Bek!!! Bek has definately increased the intesity (or maybe I was a bit fitter and ran more ;) ) and although it was torture at the time - I feel very tired but great afterwards!!!

Heres hoping that I can get up in the morning to go to a trial Body Combat Class!!! And I will be JFDI as it is free!!!!

Hope everyone had an awesome week!!!

MY COMMITMENT!!!

I am committing to lose 12kg on the 12WBT (at least!!!). I will keep track of what I am consuming (calorie intake) and exercise (calorie expenditure) in a written journal. I will regularly exercise and keep my eating clean. I will complete an 8 week bootcamp, walk, do some DVD's in the loungeroom, Zumba and attempt the C25K program.

I am committed 120% to do the work it takes to get me there. Nothing is going to stop me!

I will look hot at my sisters Wedding in April! lol

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

WTF!!!!

Ok, so my friend Jen and I have been doing our own weigh in since the start of the year and reporting into each other every Wednesday. And WTF ... this week after all my exercise (and that killer walk) I only lost 100g.

But what is more disappointing is that I weighed myself this morning (and yes I know you shouldn't weigh in everyday - but I can't help myself lol), and I have put on 200g (after a zumba class yesterday and bootcamp).

I have been weighing all my food and recording in a food journal along with calories.

I am wondering just what I have doing wrong ... :(

GOALS!!!

Ok, before I officially start the 12WBT (and bootcamp). I should probably set my self some goals!!! So here goes for the next 6 months I am deteremined to:

1 MONTH (by 21st March - week 4 of 12WBT)
Have lost 4kg
Completed 1km fitness test in less than 8 mins
Get excellent and improved results (in all sections) at Operation Bootcamp

3 MONTH (by 16th May - Week 12)
Lost 12kgs
Enter 4km fun run
Run/jog/ Shuffle 5kms
Run 1km in less than 6mins

6 MONTH (by 21st August)
Have lost 20kg
Continue to maintain good fitness levels

So how am I going to do this?

Well I will:
  • Attend Operation Bootcamp
  • Play Basketball
  • Go to at least 1 Zumba class a week (more if possible)
  • Do some fitness DVD's at home
  • Follow 12WBT
  • Complete the C25K program
  • Enter some Fun Runs
Here's hoping I can achieve ALL of my goals!!!

CRAZY, INSANE or STUPID...?!

So a couple of weeks ago, Jen and I decided that today we would do a crazy 16km walk. Walk 8km one way pushing prams - let the kids have a play at a park and have a bit of lunch and then walk back again a bit later.

As today got closer we saw the weather forcast - 36 degrees. Hmmm.... not going to happen with 4 kids under 5!!! It just wouldn't be fair to them (and no it isn't an excuse!). So we decided we would do a section of the walk. Well it was almost torture! We walked 3kms out and 3kms back and 787 cals burnt in 1hr and 33mins (for me) later. We were both nearly passed out and were very sweaty and worn out from kids and pushing prams! But we did something at least! And it was better than nothing and it felt good (well and truly afterwards!). We will aim to do our 16km walk on a much much cooler day lol. Let us know if you want to join us!!!

It was great getting back home to the air conditioned house and being able to chillax in the poool for the arvo before burning another 253 cals at Zumba (I was knackered!).

My two gorgeous girls (my exercise companions) and I

Jen, my fellow 12WBTer and friend and support person and ... the list goes on!

OPERATION BOOTCAMP!!!

Well, tonight was my first night of Operation Bootcamp!!!! Which I will be doing for the next 8 weeks!

Probably like all bootcamps, we began with an official weigh in, measure, and fitness test!! OUCH!

We began with the 'Beep Test.' I have NEVER done one before (this is not an excuse I promise) and I got a bit confused when the Beeps changed levels! Ooops! So probably didn't do as good as I could have, but hey I gave it a go!!! I got to level 2.4!

Then, it was to the grassed area to do 'The Plank.' The first official time I have ever done this and my time was 1min and 44secs. Not sure if I suck at this or if it is ok??? I guess I can tell you that in 8 weeks! lol

Then it was the "Push Up's" and not the girl kind, the proper ones on your toes. For the first time in my life (that I can recall anyway) I had to do real push ups. I got 6 in a minute! (Don't think I did them really well though!) There was one guy doing them and he was a machine (obviously doesn't carry a toddler around all day lol).

Then came 'Step Ups" I got 40 in a minute (I was pleased with this).

Then the Sit Ups (elbows touching thighs) and it was 25 in a minute - I might actually change levels this round in the 12WBT! Oh and my neck didn't hurt for a change (must remember to thank Jill my massuer for that!).

Then, the squats. 57 in 1 minute!

And lastly we had to balance on one leg for as long as possible. I think I made 2 mins 34 secs.

So all in all I am pleased with my results, and know that there are huge improvements to be made.

Over the next 8 weeks, I hope I can lose at least a kilo a week! Fingers, Toes and everything are crossed!

Bring on Boxing Wednesday Night at Bootcamp - can't wait!

EXCUSES, EXCUSES, EXCUSES ... What are yours?

So I have come up with a list of excuses that I have used in the past for not excercising or for getting take away food. And my there is quite a list:

First of all the Internal Excuses (you know the self talk excuses between the devil and angel that go on in your head):
1. I’m too tired
2. It’s weigh in day and I have lost weight so I can celebrate and eat/ drink whatever I like as I have a week to lose it!
3. I don’t have time to cook tea we will just get take away
4. I’m too fat and will look very silly!
5. I will look stupid
6. I hate going to an exercise class and seeing myself in the mirror
7. I will be the only one who ends up looking like a tomato and dripping in sweat
8. I am too uncoordinated
9. I will start tomorrow (or Monday)!!!
Then came the External Excuses (within my control), the excuses that are prompted by external factors but I do have some control over:
1. I’m don’t have anymore time to be able to fit exercise in as well
2. It’s too hot to exercise – I will pass out! Or drip in sweat and look stupid!
3. It’s too expensive/ I can’t afford to go to exercise classes
4. I don’t have any/ the right clothes to wear
5. Someone might see me!

And lastly the External Excuses (that I have no control over):
1. Kids/ Family getting sick
2. Me getting sick/ injured
3. Natural Disaster (bush fires)

Hmmm, so how does one avoid giving into these EXCUSES!! (cos yes that's what they are, just EXCUSES no real valuable reasons at all!). Thinking, thinking, thinking ... as Michelle says you need solutions and a solution for each and every excuse so here goes:

Internal Excuses and Solutions:
1. I’m too tired  Go for a quick walk – you may surprise yourself because it may ‘freshen you up!2. It’s weigh in day and I have lost weight so I can celebrate and eat/ drink whatever I like as I have a week to lose it! Yep you can – but just think, if you don’t you will lose a heap more weight because you won’t have to lose what you will gain by eating/ drinking that crap!
3. I don’t have time to cook tea we will just get take away By the time you drive to town and wait for take away you could of had tea cooked for a fraction of the price!
4. I’m too fat and will look very silly! You may look fat in your eyes but everyone else will think it is GREAT that you are exercising and too busy trying to do the exercise themselves!
5. I will look stupid You won’t be on your own – the others don’t know the moves either
6. I hate going to an exercise class and seeing myself in the mirror Don’t look into the mirror or stand at the back!
7. I will be the only one who ends up looking like a tomato and dripping in sweat You seriously think that!!! Put some make up on lol
8. I am too uncoordinated And the only way you will get coordinated is through practice!
9. I will start tomorrow (or Monday)!!! Tomorrow never comes! JFDI NOW!

External Excuses (within my control) and solutions:
1. I’m don’t have anymore time to be able to fit exercise in as well Well do some incidental exercise – park the car honey and walk! Do a DVD at night or get up 30mins earlier – you will feel better for it
2. It’s too hot to exercise – I will pass out! Or drip in sweat and look stupid! Drink some water and take a towel!
3. It’s too expensive/ I can’t afford to go to exercise classes you can easily get a DVD and do it at home! Start saving or go without something else! Isn’t your health a priority?
4. I don’t have any/ the right clothes to wear Look in your wardrobe. There is definitely something in there appropriate!
5. Someone might see me! Go in the dark! If they do see you they will only be proud of you for doing something about your health rather than sitting on your fat ass!!!

External Excuses (that I have no control over) and solutions:
1. Kids/ Family getting sick Take 5 (or 10mins) mins to go for a walk in the fresh air – it may help clear your head!!! It is important to look after yourself too!2. Me getting sick/ injured Try and do some exercise for 5 - 10mins at a slower pace. If you have had enough stop but if you can keep going WELL KEEP GOING!!!
3. Natural Disaster (bush fires) If you can take 5 (or 10mins) mins to go for a walk in the fresh air (if there is any) – it may help clear your head!!! Do some stretches.

So, there they are! All the excuses I could come up with (and I am sure there are more!). How many of these have you used or are still using?

Before, I end I have a favour to ask ... if I ever try and use one of these excuses, STOP ME on the spot there and then!!! Please, I beg you!

Wednesday Weigh Ins!!!

HAPPY AUSTRALIA DAY!!!

So since the New Year a friend and I have been 'unofficially' weighing in each week and reporting to each other!!! Since last round, there was a definate increase of a couple of kilos. Since starting with Jen I have manage to shift the Xmas baggage plus 2kg (but then gained a couple with a few parties etc :( ) and now I have shifted them again! Yay!

So if you are lost from all that dribble - I am 1.8kg lighter today than when  finished Round 3, 2010! Woohoo!

Have learnt very valuable lessons over the past couple of weeks:
DON'T under any cirncumstances Michala Drink Alcohol and Order Pizza = far to dangerous = extra kilos
DON'T if, Michala, you have to go to the supermarket after having a few wines, and you happen to have the munchies, do NOT go near the Camambert Cheese!!!! Unless of course you want to be working out ALL the next day!!!

I haven't been exercising as I was last year when doing the program. But I have been doing Zumba approx. 4 times a week for last 2 and a half weeks and it appears to have done something. Next week (this is not an excuse!!!) I am starting Operation: Bootcamp twice a week (and will keep a couple of my zumba classes up until basketball starts again). I CANNOT wait for the bootcamp! I am a bit nervous but VERY excited about what Bek has in store for me!!! I will keep you posted!

Better go get ready for an Australia Day Lunch that my girls and I are going to! Should be fun!!!

Zumba

So I have been going to Zumba for 2 weeks now and I absolutely LOVE it! I have been doing it 4 times a week and if time persisted oh and the funds) I would go more! Just over an hour ago I found out that I can't go tonight because I have a meeting (that I hadn't had confirmed until then :( ) I am shattered to say the least. And on top of that because of Australia Day this week - I only get to do 2 classes now. Plus I haven't done any real exercise today because I knew I was going to Zumba - arrrrgh!

Anyway, just had to get that off my chest! lol

The beginning of Round 1, 2011

Hey there,
Ok to begin with - I have NEVER done a blog. I have no idea what I am doing and I am not the best writter! But hey I will give it a shot!

Well, preseason has finally begun! YAY! Although I wish we didn't have to wait another 4 weeks until the program begins - but I guess I have survived since mid December another couple of weeks will not hurt!

My goal for this round is to increase my fitness and aim to lose more than 12kgs! Fingers, toes and everything is crossed!

Last round, exceeded my expectations! I lost 16kgs and came 20th out of approx 2500 people!!! I was sooo excited (and a little bit proud lol)!

I am so looking forward to this round and can't wait to meet you all on the forums and hopefully some of you at some training sessions!!

Chat again soon
